New board members join Klappir

At the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 27 April 2022, two new directors joined the board: Gunnar Sigurdsson (Rapyd) and Vilborg Einarsdóttir (Bravo Earth). Jon Bjornsson (Origo) and Stefan Eyjolfsson (Air Atlanta) left the board.

Vilborg Einarsdóttir has an MSc in Management and Strategy from the University of Iceland and the University of Commerce in Aarhus in Denmark along with a B.Ed. from the Iceland University of Education. She is a Co-Founder and former CEO of InfoMentor.

Vilborg has extensive experience of both the education sector and the business community. She is a former board member of Promote Iceland, the Icelandic Technology Fund and the Federation of Industries. Vilborg has received various awards. She was selected in the "Top 18 - The Brightest Business Minds in Northern Europe" (Nordic Business Forum) in 2016, honoured with the Icelandic Order of the Falcon in 2012 and elected Business Woman of the Year 2010 in Iceland.

Gunnar Siguðrsson has an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Corporate Finance from the University of Iceland. He was selected to participate in the Corporate Finance program at Columbia University in 2017. He has been a part-time teacher at the University of Iceland since 2017, both in the engineering and business departments. His focus in recent years has been on strategic finance and quality management.

Gunnar has substantial experience in the finance sector, both in the domestic and foreign financial markets. In his field of work, he has established rigorous controls for risk and optimizing quality. Prior to entering the finance sector, he was in project and manufacturing management, mainly in construction and machinery for the fisheries and aluminium industries.

We thank Jon Bjornsson and Stefan Eyjolfsson for the good work they have done and welcome Vilborg Einarsdóttir and Gunnar Sigurðsson as new members of our Board of Directors. They bring years of expertise and leadership in key areas such as, capital markets and strategic implementation, finance and more. We are confident that they will provide valuable perspectives as we continue to execute our strategy of developing Klappir’s Sustainability Platform.
