Why sustainable IT procurement starts with reliable resource data

Purchase price alone no longer tells the full story of a tech investment. Lifecycle cost does.

OK webinar with Jon Agust

Technology procurement decisions are shifting. Purchase price is no longer the only variable that matters: energy use, expected lifespan, maintenance needs and end-of-life value increasingly determine whether an investment in hardware pays off. That shift only works if organisations can trust the data behind it.

Jón Ágúst Þorsteinsson, co-founder of Klappir and board member, will speak on this on 15 September at an OK webinar on sustainable and economical technology procurement.

His argument: the same operational data organisations already collect, including energy use, service records and asset lifecycles, can become the foundation for both cost control and credible sustainability reporting if structured consistently from the start.

That is the premise behind Klappir's data infrastructure: standardising how resource data is defined and exchanged, so it holds up whether it is used to negotiate a better procurement decision or to satisfy a regulator.
