Andersen & Heegaard: one foundation for sustainability data

About Andersen & Heegaard

Building Denmark’s technical systems since the 1830s. Three companies. Eleven disciplines.

Andersen & Heegaard began as an iron foundry at Blagards Plads in Copenhagen and today is a nationwide technical contractor with around 550 people, operating as a group of three companies: Andersen & Heegaard A/S, Andersen & Heegaard EL A/S, and Andersen & Heegaard Vest A/S in Kolding.

The group delivers interdisciplinary technical solutions across eleven disciplines, including VVS, sprinkler systems, ventilation, electrical installations, fire and security (ABA), and CTS building automation, for pharma, insurance, shopping centres, municipalities and housing associations.

That broad reach also brings a data challenge. Sustainability information stretches across three legal entities, many disciplines, a vehicle fleet, and projects nationwide, all in different systems and formats.

The challenge

Plenty of good intentions. No common structure.

By 2024, Andersen & Heegaard had already taken important steps in sustainability, but these efforts were not measured or documented in a consistent way.

The aim was not to meet a deadline. Since the company is outside the current CSRD scope, the focus was on building a solid, owned foundation, a single place for sustainability data and decisions. This way, the group can move at its own pace and be ready for any future regulations.

We had initiatives in place, but no consistent way to measure or document them. We wanted to do it right from the start.

The approach

A platform and a partner that already speak the same language.

Andersen & Heegaard manages its sustainability work on the Klappir platform, using the Strategy module as the central hub. This guides the Double Materiality Assessment, structures policies and actions, and brings all documentation together in one place.

Alongside the platform, ESG Implementation, a certified Klappir partner, led workshops and provided guidance. Because the partner already knew the platform, setup was efficient and aligned from the start, with no need for rework and no gaps between the tool and the advice.

This is the network effect in action. When the platform and consultancy share the same data model, data, strategy, and documentation stay consistent. The company ran its Double Materiality Assessment internally and built an ESRS-ready foundation, keeping ownership of its understanding of the business.

The results

From data to disclosure, owned in-house.

First public ESG disclosure

The 2025 annual report includes the company’s first sustainability section, a key step from intention to documented reporting. A fuller ESG report and climate data will follow.

35% electric fleet

The share of fully electric vehicles across the group grew from 13.2% in 2023 to 24.3% in 2024, reaching 35% in 2025.

DMA run internally

The team completed a Double Materiality Assessment and built an ESRS-ready foundation themselves, even though the group is outside CSRD scope.

One system, three companies

Sustainability data and documentation are now centralised across the group, making collaboration easier and progress more visible.

Using Klappir together with one of their certified partners helped us bridge the gap between strategy and reporting. The platform provided a solid foundation for data collection and documentation, allowing us to focus consultancy hours where they mattered most: on CSRD preparation and long-term development. With a partner who knew both our needs and the platform, the entire process became more efficient and delivered better results.

Looking ahead

A foundation that keeps compounding.

The company is now working towards ISO 14001 environmental certification in 2026 and preparing a fuller ESG report, including climate data still to come.

Sustainability is shifting from a one-off task to a structured discipline the group manages itself, with data ready whenever customers, tenders, or regulators ask.

Common questions

What teams most often ask about this story.

The group runs everything on one platform, with the Strategy module as the central hub. Data, policies, actions, and documentation from all three legal entities and every discipline live in a single, structured place, so the group sees a consistent picture rather than reconciling separate systems and formats.
