Collaboration is key: Highlights from our first Partner Summit
Last Wednesday (27.08.2025) we held our first Partner Summit, welcoming our partners and customers to the table. The Partner Summit was a mosaic of expertise, uniting minds from diverse backgrounds to forge a clear path forward in sustainability. It was a powerful reminder that true progress is possible only when we all work together.
Where purpose meets practice
Our day began with our first-ever Partner Summit, held against the stunning backdrop of Guldsmeden Hotels' Manon les Suites in Copenhagen. The atmosphere was immediately charged with purpose, perfectly embodied by our keynote speakers, Astrid Kolle Østergaard, Marketing and Sustainability Strategist and Kirsten Aggersborg, Head of Sustainability at Guldsmeden Hotels. Together they delivered a compelling presentation on how Guldsmeden Hotels has masterfully woven sustainability into the very fabric of their business model. What was once guided by gut feeling is becoming an industry-leading, data-driven sustainability strategy for impact. Proving that purpose-driven values and commercial success can go hand in hand.
This forward-looking perspective provided the perfect launchpad for a pivotal moment in the summit: the announcement of our own impact initiatives. We were thrilled to officially unveil our new way forward and introduce a reimagined plan structure designed to offer our partners and customers greater flexibility and value. Now, our customers and partners can truly lead by example, driving impact at an ecosystem level by inviting their value chain to build the core to their connected, data-driven sustainability practices at no cost.
This is not a symbolic access; this is real value to bring clarity to sustainability across the value chain.
With new tools and structures on the table, the summit moved from presentation to participation. We immediately channeled the energy in the room into a hands-on workshop where all attendees collaborated to align on strategic priorities going forward.
In the spirit of building connected impact and strengthening personal connections within our ecosystem, we concluded with dynamic speed-networking rounds, giving everyone the opportunity to meet one-on-one. This immersive morning of big announcements, strategic planning, and personal connection provided a powerful foundation for the rest of the day's events.
Challenging assumptions at TechBBQ
The energy carried through to TechBBQ, where we hosted a Grill session on one of the most pressing challenges today: "Unlocking ROI in Sustainable Supply Chains." Together with thought leaders from ESG Implementation, Keepers ApS, and the International Carbon Registry, we took a closer look at where risks and blind-spots hide, and how data can reveal them.
Christian Honoré (ESG Implementation) identified climate-related disruptions in procurement as a growing threat to supply chain ROI.
Lena Høyrem Gabrielsen (Keepers ApS) emphasized the lack of visibility into sub-tier suppliers, where 75–85% of supply chain risk lies.
Björn Halldór Helgason (ICR) raised a fundamental question: Are decisions being made based on data, or simply what feels right?
It was a call for greater data quality, traceability, and structured transparency. In other words: the need for smart platforms that drive real insight.
An evening of meaningful connections
We closed the day at the residence of the Icelandic Ambassador, where conversations continued over food and music. This final touch offered a relaxed space to strengthen the partnerships that will shape the future of sustainability. The atmosphere was warm, collaborative, and forward-looking.
Stronger together: What comes next?
The summit confirmed what we’ve always believed: no single company can tackle sustainability alone. Real change comes from networks, interconnected ecosystems built on trust, shared knowledge, and accurate data.
This was just the first step in what will be a long-term, collaborative journey. The relationships and insights sparked last week are already driving new initiatives, and Klappir is here to support every step forward.
To everyone who joined us: thank you for being part of this moment. Together, we are building the smart way to sustainability.
